It's tempting to blame someone or something else every time we host a dinner party and inevitably end up running an hour behind. Excuses, excuses we know (the nanny was late, the hubby never picked-up the baguette, one of the kids needed their painful swimmer's ear treated...it's always something in the life of a busy mama!). We've found that the best way to buy ourselves extra time, is to serve delicious, conversation-starting snacks when the guests begin to trickle in.

The corporate board of Little Ragghis Crackers donated $2,000 to the NAIC Leadership Academy. NAIC Chair Anne Marshall accepted this donation on behalf of the board during the July 2010 Board Meeting.
This relatively young company has made an impression with national media and has already been featured on the Today Show, Maryland Life, the Gourmet Retailer, Fancy Food Show and Cheese & Champagne. The product namesake and chief baker, Ms. Calentine, requested that a donation go to NAIC before the snack went into commercial production. She has been an active NAIC board member and officer and is also active with her Annual Conference Native Ministries.

While owning a small gourmet shop in Berlin, Maryland, in 2008, Guy Bashore became
dissatisfied with the quality of the crackers served during wine tastings. Bashore decided to take matters into his own hands, literally.

"When it comes to a tasty and no-fuss Southern treat, it's hard to beat the venerable Charleston benne wafer. But recently, a tiny company out of Ocean City, Maryland, has been gaining a rabid following among discriminating noshers with a handmade cracker that's just simple enough to be brilliant..."

"Quite possibly the world's most addictive crackers" - or so they claim. But after one taste of Little Ragghi's Crackers' you'll probably agree.

"I was struck by the sign that read, "Quite possibly the world's most addictive crackers." After I tasted them, I thought that may be right. Little Ragghi's Crackers are artisan flatbread crackers with olive oil and Parmesan added. They are amazingly good and seem to be the perfect foil for all kinds of cheese, dips, spreads, deli meats or whatever else one may wish to put on a cracker. They are available in the original handled gift bag, a kraft paper display box, or a #2 bulk package for tasting and retail. The company and the crackers are named for Raggatha Calentine, a spirited woman in whose name the company donates a portion of the proceeds to her charity of choice, The National Native American Family Camp. You can read about Raggatha and the camp on the company Web site www.ragghiscrackers.com, or you can e-mail info@ragghiscrackers.com for more information."

"Little Ragghi's Crackers were another favorite. They are a flat bread cracker with olive oil and parmesan - super crunchy and really flavorful. Plus, part of the profit goes to the Native American Family Camp. (The company is named after Raggatha, a Native American woman who works with and teaches young girls. She's a good friend of the owner and he let her choose the charitable component.)"

"P.S. The crackers? One of my favorite finds at the recent National Harbor Food & Wine Festival in DC. Locally made right here in Maryland, Little Ragghi's crisp flatbread are seasoned with olive oil and parmesan cheese for a perfectly satisfying crunch. Their tagline is "quite possibly the world's most addicting crackers," and I have to say, they may be right!"

"Whether mentoring children through the ancient art of storytelling or creating the world's most addicting cracker, Little Ragghi might be able to make an even bigger impact in the world with the exposure gained by the success of the crackers that bear her name. Quite possibly, that's a story that many would like to see told over and over again."
